NPP Presidential Primaries – Ken Ohene Agyapong Maintains Lead at 52% in Latest Sanity Africa Survey

Sanity Africa the civil society organization that accurately predicted the winner of the Akwatia Parliamentary By-election has released its latest polls on the upcoming New Patriotic Party Presidential Primaries.

The latest Phase Three voter intention survey by Sanity Africa shows Hon. Ken Ohene Agyapong maintaining a commanding lead ahead of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) presidential primaries scheduled for January 2026. According to the poll, released today, Ken Ohene Agyapong is leading with 52.0% of delegate support, putting him well ahead of his closest rival, former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia (DMB), who trails at 40.0%.

The survey, conducted between October 2025 and January 2026 among a weighted sample of 15,000 delegates from all 276 constituencies, carries a 99% confidence level and a ±5% margin of error. It reflects intentions based on the expanded delegate album of approximately 211,000 voters, including former government appointees and past party executives.

Other contenders lag far behind: Dr. Bryan Acheampong garners 7.0%, Dr. Osei Yaw Adutwum 0.7%, and Ing. Kwabena A. Agyepong just 0.3%. Compared to the October Phase Two results, Agyapong has seen a minor dip of 1.1 percentage points, while Bawumia gained 1.0 point and Acheampong surged by 2.0 points.

Sanity Africa, a Pan-African civil society organization focused on governance and citizen-led processes, described the race as “fluid,” with delegate sentiments potentially shifting due to last-minute campaigns, messaging, endorsements, and regional outreach. The findings position Ken Agyapong as the clear frontrunner but warn that momentum from rivals like Acheampong could narrow the gap in the final weeks.
